After many years of administering CIC and CISR classes, MAIA has made the difficult decision to discontinue offering these courses. This decision was not made lightly. However, new contract mandates by The Risk & Insurance Education Alliance (The Alliance) made it clear that continuing to offer these programs would not be fiscally responsible for either the association or our members. If you wish to maintain your CIC or CISR designation, we encourage you to look for classes offered by other state associations, or you may also take them directly through the Alliance.

While this marks the end of a long-standing relationship, it also opens the door to new opportunities. Starting in 2026, MAIA will be partnering with the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents to offer the Accredited Insurance Lines Professional (AILP) designation! MAIA joins a growing list of state insurance agent associations that are offering this designation, and we are confident that this will become the go-to designation in Missouri and around the country.
