Flood insurance
Floods are the most common and most destructive natural disaster in the United States. All 50 states have experienced floods or flash floods in the past five years, and 90% of all natural disasters involve flooding. The damage from a flood is not covered under a standard homeowners policy.
Through affiliation with both of our national organizations, IIABA and PIA, MAIA makes available flood insurance markets for our members’ clients through carriers Selective and The Hartford. Competitive rates and broad coverages are inherent to both programs, and the convenience of writing through these markets makes them a go-to for flood policies for clients who need coverage or desire peace of mind in protecting their properties. Policies are provided through national carriers that have solid reputations and rich histories in taking care of policyholders. Both programs are provided as a member benefit for Missouri agencies. Choose either of the programs below to get started on a personalized quote for your flood insurance client.

Big “I” Flood and Selective’s relationship helps deliver members an unparalleled flood program. Together, we offer agents several layers of support to meet any and all flood insurance needs. Get your flood questions answered by getting to know the Big “I” and Selective staff. If you are interested in “rolling over” your current book of flood business, contact your Selective flood territory manager. Selective’s flood territorial managers are located throughout the country and can assist you in rolling your flood book, provide flood CE-approved classes and much more.

Since 2004, PIA and The Hartford have joined together to provide PIA member agents the opportunity to offer your customers flood insurance through The Hartford, a WYO company. The program is available to PIA members and their policyholders in Missouri. PIA members earn great commissions on flood insurance sales with The Hartford and, if they want, a flood insurance processing center that does most of the heavy lifting for them.
Changes in the flood insurance marketplace are continuing. As some carriers leave the market or sell their books of business, PIA’s national flood partner, The Hartford, has been a consistent presence in the market. Hartford is one of the largest flood insurance writers in the country, having written flood insurance through FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program for decades.
Standard and surplus lines programs are available to PIA members in Missouri.
